I studied Mathematics at Cambridge and then worked for some years as a programmer in military real time systems, before returning to academia to do an MSc course in (Computer) System Design at Manchester. My project was an occam compiler for an experimental dataflow computer. I stayed at Manchester as a Research Assistant for two years, and now regret that I did not make more of the opportunity ... I was involved with Hypertext, SGML and Internet before the World Wide Web was invented. Various jobs afterwards eventually led to frustration with commercial computing and a change in direction. I am now coming towards the end of a three year apprenticeship in Organ Building and only program as a hobby.

I have a fairly wide experience of programming languages, but now program almost exclusively in Prograph; and so I am supporting this project in the hope of keeping it that way.

Some people may recognise me from the 1995 Prograph Developer Conference—I was the Englishman from Belgium who had implemented a version of the TV game "Jeopardy" using hardware based on a network of Macs, running my Prograph software.
